Beyoncé BET Awards plans unknown

Earlier this year, Beyoncé premiered her incredible visual album Lemonade , sparked endless speculation about Becky With the Good Hair, and embarked on her wildly popular Formation world tour. I can't say I'm that surprised, though—this is Beyoncé we're talking about, and she reigns supreme. While she may be super busy these days, I still have to ask: Will Beyoncé attend the 2016 BET Awards on Sunday night? There's no official word yet on whether she will attend, but it's definitely a possibility.

Beyoncé is nominated in five categories, including Best Female R&B/Pop Vocal Performance and Video of the Year. The undisputed Queen of Pop also happens to be taking a break from the domestic leg of her Formation World Tour. This would be the perfect time to perform at an award show or just grace the red carpet with her stunning appearance.

Beyoncé wasn't on BET's list of performers for the event, but I'm talking about an artist known for delivering a lot of surprises, so I don't think we should rule out the singer's appearance entirely. According to her world tour schedule, Bey's last performance will be at Detroit's Ford Field on June 14, and she will head to the United Kingdom on June 28 to begin the European portion of the tour. She will return to the United States in September for the remainder of her performance tour. So, can Beyoncé make an appearance during her break? The latest photos on her Instagram account show husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy frolicking in an idyllic beach paradise. Of course, the Carter family is enjoying a well-deserved vacation, but that beach is also just a flight away from Los Angeles, and the BET Awards will be held at the Microsoft Theater on June 26, so it's definitely a possibility.

Plus, Beyoncé just released her hit song "Sorry" as a standalone video on YouTube this week, so what better way to further promote the song with her tie-breaking performance at the BET Awards Woolen cloth? The superstar has performed and accepted awards at many award shows over the past few years. She recorded her song "Partition" with Jay Z at the 2014 awards show and duet "Deja Vu" in 2006. In 2007, Bey sang "Get Me Bodied" and "Deja Vu" with her former colleagues from "Destiny's Child." 2005 Catering 2 U”.

But even if Beyoncé doesn't perform, there's a chance she'll do well in terms of trophies. This year she tied with Rihanna for second place in the nominations. Drake leads the way with nine nods. Last year, Beyoncé won the BET Awards for Best R&B/Pop Vocal Performance, Video of the Year for “7/11,” and Video Director of the Year. According to IMDb, Beyoncé has won over 15 BET Awards throughout her epic career, so she and the trophies go way back.

So even if Beyoncé doesn't show up, she could still be the big winner at this year's BET Awards.
