Following their whirlwind love story on "The Bachelor," Gerry Turner and Theresa Nest are getting married. We are all invited. The inaugural Golden Couple's wedding is scheduled to air on Thursday, January 4 at 8pm ET on ABC during the show's regular time slot.
Because this will be a live special, there aren't too many traditional spoilers -- no grainy leaks of Theresa in her wedding dress, no tantalizing "I object!" coverage. twist. But the couple shared some fun details ahead of the big day.
Who made the guest list?
During a Bachelor happy hour appearance, Teresa said she would "invite every one" of her fellow Bachelorette ladies, specifically mentioning Faith Martin. "I will invite Leslie (Fhima), I don't know if she will come," she added.
Gerry also expressed his feelings about Leslie. "I would feel very comfortable because I have a deep affection and respect for her," he said. “If she’s comfortable there, I’m certainly comfortable having her there.”
An interesting twist on tradition
Teresa, whose daughter will be the maid of honor, told People magazine that her sisters will serve as flower girls.
"They're older. They should be excited about it," she said .
The most romantic decoration
The bride-to-be told People magazine that since Teresa and her daughters are both gardeners, they can expect "an abundance of roses and gardens" at the wedding.
The reception area will have long tables and suspended ceilings, she added . This all sounds very romantic and Bridgerton-y!
Gerry and Teresa's first dance
The couple's musical preferences are very eclectic. Gerry teased a potential wedding playlist on Instagram, which includes everything from Miley Cyrus' "Used to Be Young" to Pitbull and Ne-Yo's "Time of Our Lives" song. Susan Noles commented, "I'm going to dance all night!" as she should.
But for the couple's first dance, expect classic ballads like Celine Dion's "The Power of Love" or Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You."
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly , Gerry defended his playlist of more modern pop songs, saying they were his "personal preference" and clarifying that they would not be "used at weddings ."
"These things are very important, and Theresa had a very good appreciation of music," he said. "She would make these choices. My [list] was when we were going crazy on adult beverages."
Theresa added that she added "120 songs" to the playlist. "You know what? They probably won't use any of our songs," she said. The only artist she had to play was Van Morrison, while Gerry's main request was P!nk. As for banned songs, Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back" won't be played - or as Gerry puts it, "that 'I like big butts, I can't lie' song."
Report location
Gerry and Teresa didn't share their official wedding venue, possibly to avoid well-meaning wedding spoilers. However, Bachelor Nation podcaster Reality Steve shared the reported location - posting photos he claims show Gerry and Teresa visiting the La Quinta Resort and Club near Palm Springs.
Does the destination sound familiar? Here's how it should be: Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams' season of The Bachelor was filmed at a resort, so it makes sense that the producers chose a location they've worked with before.
The wedding planning was certainly quick, but not as quick as Theresa's marriage to her late husband, Billy. She planned to complete it in three days with the help of her mother.
"We had the dress, the veil, the cake, the photographer, the music, literally in the basement of my house," she recalled to People magazine . "There's no diamond ring, so it's brand new and stunning."
