Period drama fans rejoice as ITV's latest effort is set to take over the Sunday night TV schedule. Yes, the new series "Beacham House" is about to premiere and will follow the story of the Beauchamp family as they move into a luxurious new mansion in India. The cast of the play includes Dakota Blue Richards, Jekyll and Hyde's Tom Bateman, "Citizen Khan" star Adil Ray, etc. But who is Dakota Blue Richards? Richards attended St Paul's Primary School in Brighton and later Brackington Mill Secondary School in Hove, The Argus reported . The young actor subsequently attended K-Bis drama school in Brighton, and according to The Irish News , Richards landed his first major role in the 2007 film The Golden Compass at the age of 13. Richards plays Leila in the adaptation of His Dark Materials and most recently played WPC Shirley Trulove in ITV's Endeavor , Radio Times reported. As previously announced, Richards will star in ITV's latest period drama Beecham House . The actor plays Margaret Osborne - an English governess whose intelligence and beauty capture the attention of those around her. According to iNews, the show is set in India in the late 18th century, decades before the British Raj, and revolves around a war veteran named John Beecham who is trying to escape his past life. Beacham moved with his family into a mansion in Derry, where he hoped to make a new start.

Part of ITV's official synopsis reads: "Set in 19th-century Derry before British rule in the region, the series charts the fortunes of the residents of Beecham House, a grand mansion surrounded by Surrounded by acres of exotic forest and pristine lawns”.

The ITV drama will tell the story of how India became part of the British Empire, with series director Gurinder Chadha saying she hopes Beecham House will be both educational and entertaining , The Guardian reports sex. Speaking to the Radio Times , the director also said she believed British schools may be "fearful of telling the truth about colonialism". She said: "Most children in British schools now are not even told that there was an empire and that the British ruled India. This is of course wrong."

The series is executive produced by Caroline Levy, known previously for EastEnders , Holby City and The Bill , and the ITV series is reported by The Sun The series begins with a two-part premiere, with the first airing on Sunday 23 June at 9pm on ITV1. The second episode is scheduled to air on Monday night, June 24, with the remaining four episodes continuing every Sunday night.
