Gabriella Montez is a married woman (but Troy Bolton is not). Vanessa Hudgens tied the knot with Major League Baseball (MLB) player Cole Tucker on December 2 in Tulum, Mexico. Vogue confirmed the wedding, sharing the first photos and exclusive details.
The couple wrote their own vows for the big day, saying "I do" in front of 100 family and close friends. Jay Shetty hosted a Zoom meditation where the couple met and officiated the ceremony. Hudgens called her wedding the "most magical weekend" of her life.
Before Hudgens was confirmed, a photo of the actor posing barefoot on a beach in a white dress went viral on X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, her High School Musical co-star Monique Coleman posted a video from Tulum on her Instagram Story with the caption, "Last day in paradise."

The newlyweds got engaged in November 2022 after dating for two years, but didn't announce their engagement until Hudgens shared a photo of Tucker's Paris proposal on Instagram in February. "Yes. We couldn't be happier," she wrote in the post, which also included a close-up of her engagement ring on the Seine.
Hudgens has been open about her wedding planning process since then, calling it "crazy" and "kind of exciting" in a September interview with People magazine . “The wedding industry is crazy, crazy,” she said. "My best friend was getting married, and she was going through this, and I was like, 'Oh my God, clothes are so expensive.'"
In fact, as she told Drew Barrymore in May, she was so exhausted at one point that she even considered eloping. "I don't know, it's really hard to find a venue," she said. "I kind of want to elope. I'm lost."
Destination Wedding Details
Despite her concerns, she and Tucker ultimately decided to have a destination wedding. “Finding the venue was the hardest part,” Huggins told Vogue. "I knew I didn't want to do it on the beach, in a ballroom or in a barn - none of that was what I wanted. Instead, I wanted to be surrounded by nature, greenery and foliage."
After considering Tulum, Mexico as a honeymoon location, they ultimately chose it. The ceremony and reception took place at the Ciudad Azulik Museum, located in the middle of the jungle. Before visiting the location, Huggins was nervous about how guests would get there.
"A lot of it was on an unpaved dirt road, and I started thinking, 'There's no way we're going to have our wedding here—how are we going to have our entire party on this bumpy dirt road? Road?' " Huggins said.
However, when she saw the venue, she knew she had found her niche. “I felt like I was transported to some kind of utopia, unlike anywhere I’d ever been,” she said. “It was so whimsical and magical, I just fell in love with it.”
