Memes and Tweets About Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Opening Night Concert

The night was sparkling and Swift wasn't letting it go. Taylor Swift officially kicked off her long-awaited Eras Tour on March 17 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, her first long-distance tour in five years. Fans who weren't able to attend opening night have been following the live broadcast on Twitter and Instagram, and to say they were overwhelmed by Swift's new performance would be an understatement.

As Swift announced in November, the Eras tour is "a journey through the musical era of my career," with tracks spanning all 10 of her studio albums, from her 2006 self-titled debut to 2022's "Midnights" . As Swift herself explained during her first address to the audience, her show will take place "one era at a time," starting with her 2019 album Lover .

After rocking the stadium with her first opening act of the tour, Paramore and Gayle, Swift made her grand entrance on Lover's heartfelt tune "Miss Americana and the Heartbroken Prince" before jumping right into fan favorite "Cruel Summer ”, a combination that immediately blew everyone away.

After the "Lover" segment, Swift takes it back to 2008 in the next scene, dedicating it to "The Fearless" (Taylor's version) and giving Swift all the nostalgic vibes. She then performed songs from her second surprise album of 2020 , " evermore," proving that she still remembered the album's existence.

Her next two albums were 2017's Reputation and 2010's Speak Now . The latter performance only featured one song, which some Swifties had a problem with, but her fan-favorite song "Enchanted" still made them particularly excited.

This was followed by a performance of "Red" (Taylor's version) and ended with "All Too Well (10-minute version)."

Finally, following "All Too Well," Swift performed for the first time the song from her Grammy-winning Folklore Album of the Year.

After coming out of the woods (pun intended), Swift took the audience back to 1989 and got them dancing all over again. In the first acoustic "Secret Song" of the Eras tour, which she will play every night on the tour, she performed "mirrorball" from folklore . Swift then performed her 2006 debut single "Tim McGraw" at the piano, sending fans into a nostalgic whirlpool.

Finally, Swift performed one final performance from her latest album , Midnights , debuting new songs like "Lavender Haze" and "Midnight Rain" and closing the show with "Karma."

Long live Taylor Swift.
