Olivia Rodrigo proves performance works. Rodrigo met one of her childhood idols, Demi Lovato, at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party on February 4. The Grammy nominees sat at the same table at the party, and they were accompanied by Lovato's boyfriend Juts. Rodrigo also appeared on Lovato's Instagram Story, dancing to Frankie Valli's performance of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" as she panned the camera around the room.
The "Drivers License" singer made a low-key appearance meeting Lovato in April 2022, when she shared a throwback photo on Instagram to commemorate the start of the Sour tour. In the photo, a young Rodrigo sings into a microphone, with posters of Disney Channel stars behind him, including Lovato. She also wrote her own setlist on a nearby whiteboard, which included Lovato's iconic camp-rock duet with Joe Jonas, "This Is Me."
Rodrigo juxtaposed the vintage photo with a video of her performing on stage during her first headline-making trek. "Tour going on gr8," she wrote in the post.
Lovato commented on the photo with a tired face and pink heart emoji before reposting it on their Instagram Story, saying, "This photo warms my cold little heart." Lovato The Jonas Brothers' Camp Rock co-stars also received huge praise from Rodrigo, who included their early hits "SOS," "Year 3000" and "When You Look Me In The Eyes" into her playlist middle. Kevin Jonas praised her choice, calling it a "solid set list."

Since breaking out in 2021, Rodrigo has become very good at meeting his idols. In 2020, Abrams tweeted that "Gracie Abrams made me discover Olivia Rodrigo," before Abrams eventually sang for Rodrigo on the Sour tour Ge starts. Likewise, Rodrigo met Jack White after saying in 2019 that she would "die for the musician," and after writing about singing "Uptown Girl" on her hit "Deja Vu," she and Bee Performing with Leigh Joel at Madison Square Garden.
Maybe meeting the Jonas Brothers is next on her list of performances.
