Taylor Jenkins Reid's Daisy Jones & The Six finally makes the jump from book to screen, and with it comes the eponymous band's most seminal album : Aurora. (That's basically their rumor .) Reed actually included lyrics to the fictional band's song in her 2019 novel — but as she told Rolling Stone , she's "not a musician" per se.
"I heard something in my head, but it wasn't something that anyone could write into a song," she continued. “So the idea that people are going to create this album is very exciting to me.”
As it turns out, these people include some popular real-world musicians. According to the outlet, writer and producer Blake Mills assembled Phoebe Bridgers, Madison Cunningham, Marcus Mumford, Jackson Browne and others to bring Aurora to life .
Of course, not all of the songs on Daisy Jones and the Six were written and performed by the band of the same name - although those are clearly the highlights. The show also features cover songs and non-diegetic tunes from the period, setting a rock and roll backdrop to the lives of Daisy, Billy and their bandmates.
Below is a complete list of every song on the show so far.
Daisy Jones and the Six Theme Song
First, there's one song that appears in every episode: Patti Smith's "Dancing Barefoot." The lyrics draw parallels between love and addiction, and contain some very Daisy Jones-esque imagery ("I dance barefoot/Ready to twirl/Some strange music draws me in"), so it's no wonder the song serves as the show's theme Strange song.
