After weeks of speculation and a series of Easter egg teasers, the next remastered album in Taylor Swift's catalog has been confirmed to be 1989 (Taylor's Edition) . The singer announced the upcoming album during an Eras Tour show at California's SoFi Arena on August 9, confirming that the reissue will be released on October 27.
"Surprise!! 1989 (Tyler's version) is coming to you," Swift wrote on social media alongside the official album cover. “This 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and I was so excited when it was announced that my version would be released on October 27th. It’s honestly my favorite re-recording I’ve ever done , because 5 tracks from Vault are so crazy that I can’t believe they were left behind.”
"1989" was originally released in 2014 and was considered by fans to be Swift's transition from country music to a bona fide pop star, spawning a string of hit singles including "Shake It Off," "Blank Space," "Style" and "Wildest Dreams." The critically acclaimed album also earned the singer three Grammy Awards, including the coveted Album of the Year trophy, and shot to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, remaining in the top ten throughout the year of release.
Following this surprising announcement, it didn't take long for the Swifties to express their excitement for the much-anticipated re-release of the 1989 album .
