teen titans plot

While we don't know the plot of the upcoming DC Studios Teen Titans movie, the comics the team is based on have a pretty standard storyline.

The original Teen Titans were Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad. These three are all assistants to famous heroes and are very popular among readers. In 1964, DC attempted a story collaboration with The Brave and the Bold #54, which turned out to be a huge success. The trio will join other teens, including Wonder Girl and Speedy, in telling their stories in an attempt to prove they are more capable than their mentors give them credit for.

The team really gained a following in The New Teen Titans, with original members Robin, Wonder Girl, and Kid Flash joining new heroes Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Raven. The New Teen Titans were a huge hit for DC, with the lineup becoming the de facto Titans lineup for many fans.

DC Comics

Teen Titans stories like "The Judas Contract" revolutionized comics with gripping, down-to-earth storytelling.

Teen Titans is home to some of the biggest moments in comics, such as Robin's development into Nightwing's identity in the all-time classic "The Judas Contract." The Titans book series stagnated in the '90s, but the popular reboots of the 2000s gave the series a shot in the arm, introducing the next generation of heroes to the franchise, such as the then-new Robin, Superboy, and Impulse.
