There are spoilers for This Is Me...Now: A Love Story . Jennifer Lopez's new film This Is Me...Now: A Love Story features a slew of cameos from a chaotic cast of stars, from Jane Fonda to Post Malone to Neil deGrasse Tyson. On top of that, Lopez's real-life husband Ben Affleck also sneaks in, but you might not recognize him.
He first appears at the beginning of the movie. J.Lo was involved in an epic car crash after riding a motorcycle through the desert train with her biker lover. Seconds later, he appears as newscaster Rex Stone.
Stone appears sporadically in the film, which can be watched on Prime Video, but he's well disguised thanks to Affleck's makeup and prosthetics. At one point, the character laments why no one asks “What is love?” That’s not the case anymore—at least not on Google. Instead, Google's top questions included "Do you like me now?", "Is Europe a country?" and "Am I pregnant?" (spelling intentional).
Affleck's big moment comes mid-credits, after his identity is revealed. He delivers a strange but touching monologue about self-love.
"Loving yourself means never having to say, 'I'm lonely,'" he says. "That means old Rexy can go to the lobby bar, order oysters and soda, and go to bed with a smile on her face even though the waitress is as mean as a diabetic honey badger. Because only you can let the love in your heart die, and you never can It should be left to die.”
This Is Me… Now tells Lopez’s take on her and Affleck’s decades-long love story. She fictionalized her three previous marriages and the work she did on herself before reconciling with him in 2021. They got married in July 2022.
While Oscar-winning screenwriter Affleck is not credited as a writer on the film, Lopez did consult with him on how to tell their story. "No one knows my story better than he does," she told Entertainment Tonight in December. “So we were able to sit down and really dig into it in a way that I don’t think any other writer could have done with me.”
