Colton Underwood and Jordan C. Brown are about to become parents. The couple announced the happy news in a new interview with Men's Health magazine , revealing that their surrogate mother will give birth to a baby boy in October.
Underwood also detailed their experience with the store's Planned Parenthood, sharing that they used an egg donation concierge service and decided not to know which of their own sperm were selected during the process.
"Some people want blue eyes and blond hair," he explains. "We wanted someone who had depth and was cool. I believe in nature vs. nurture. So give us some basics and we can show love to this kid."
The Bachelor alum celebrated the news on Instagram on May 21. "Our little boy is due this fall," he wrote in the caption, along with a photo of an ultrasound scan.
Underwood also said in an interview with People that he and his husband "can't wait" to become parents. “That was one of the connections we made early in our relationship,” he said. "We both want to be dads... It's been an incredible experience for us to go through this together."
The Bachelor star, who came out as gay in 2021, first met the political strategist at a party in April 2021. The couple got engaged the following February and tied the knot in a Napa Valley wedding in the summer of 2023.
On May 13, Underwood celebrated their one-year anniversary on Instagram. "Happy anniversary to the man who challenges me every day to be a better version of myself," he wrote. "Loving you is easy and I can't believe I get to spend my life loving you. Love you sharks."

The couple began their fertility journey in 2022, and Underwood documented the process on her Daddyhood podcast, which launched in February of this year.
At one point, he revealed to People that he and Brown experienced some unexpected fertility challenges — most notably, a test showed Underwood had a low sperm count — but luckily, These obstacles didn't stop them from becoming parents.
The former NFL player also said the couple had a "beautiful friendship" with their surrogate mother. "We were very protective of her. We went to every doctor's appointment," he added, revealing that their attorney was the one who told them they were going to be parents.
"She texted us and shared the exciting news, and I think it was a moment of relief for us," he recalled. “We’re so lucky to have her, but she also makes us feel like we’re a part of it, which is really special.”
