Attention, Starbucks lovers, Disney lovers, and memorabilia collectors associated with both fandoms: Starbucks' new Disneyland "Been There" mugs have arrived, and they're so gorgeous you're going to want to grab them as soon as possible. Of course, there's a catch—for now, they're only available directly at Disney parks in the U.S.—but if you happen to be in Anaheim or Orlando, hit up your favorite Disney Starbucks party. Priced at $19.99 each, these mugs are undoubtedly the best way to bring your love of Disney Parks home.
The Starbucks "Been There" mug collection, part of the Pin Drop collection, originally launched in 2018, with early images starting to leak in January and debuting in stores in March. Similar to the previous and extremely popular "You Are Here" mug series, which first hit shelves in 2012 based on a database of all fan-made You Are Here mugs, the Been There mugs each feature a different theme. State, country or city. They also all feature a variety of whimsical illustrations designed to reflect the unique identity of that cup's specific location.
While Wiki Books' guide to collecting Starbucks city mugs claims that "Been There" mugs are actually replacing "You Are Here" mugs, the Wichita Eagle noted in a March 2018 report that this is not yet the case. Find out if this is the case. The jury is still out - although the value of Disney's "You Are Here" mugs that were sold in the parks starting in 2017 and in Disney stores in 2018 have now essentially disappeared from both locations. Do whatever you want with it.
Here’s what the old “You Are Here” mug looked like:
Regardless, Disney and Starbucks have apparently teamed up to launch a new set of mugs for the "Been There" range - and now they're finally available for purchase. According to various Disney Parks fan sites, including AllEars.net, WDW News Today, and Disney Food Blog, the mugs began showing up at Starbucks stores at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland. Vacationing in Anaheim, California this week.
Like the previous "You Are Here" mugs, the "Been There" mugs are themed to a specific Disney park. At Disney World, you’ll find mugs from the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot, while at Disneyland, you’ll find mugs from California Adventure and the original Disneyland. Typically, each product can be purchased at Starbucks stores within their respective parks. According to WDW News Today and Disney Instagrammer @mugs_of_disney, the mugs will retail for $19.99 each.
(BTW, reports that Disneyland mugs are selling for just $16.99 each appear to be false. WDW News Today noted that an incorrect store display somewhere at Disneyland priced these mugs as old The price of the "You Are Here" mugs, and clarified that the "Been There" mugs are $19.99 no matter which park you're at).
Main Street Bakery is selling Magic Kingdom mugs depicting Cinderella Castle, It's a Small World, the Haunted Mansion and other iconic attractions from the park, as well as classic favorites like Mickey Ice Cream Bars and Dole Whip, AllEars.net reported. Meanwhile, the Epcot mug spotted by AllEars.net at Fountain View shows off the monorail, the Imagination Pavilion, Spaceship Earth and various national pavilions from the World Showcase, among other landmarks.

Animal Kingdom mugs can be found at Creature Comforts and depict attractions such as the Tree of Life, Kali River Rapids, American Dinosaurs and Festival of the Lion King. In addition to the Disney World mugs, we also have the Hollywood Studios option, which features illustrations of Tower of Terror, Toy Story Land, Echo Lake Dinosaurs, AT-AT and many more. It's unclear which Starbucks in Hollywood Studios you can find this cup at, but I'd bet it would be the Trolley Cafe. Just, you know, for whatever it's worth.
At the Disneyland Resort, Disneyland mugs feature icons such as Sleeping Beauty's Castle, The Whale Monster, Space Mountain, Matterhorn and the Hatbox Ghost. Meanwhile, California Adventure mugs pay homage to Cars Land in the form of anthropomorphic vehicles and cones filled with delicious Cozy Cone Motel goodies, Pixar Pier with sketches of the Incredicoaster and Ferris wheel, and Hollywoodland. Part of the park with a large illustration of the Hyperion Theater. Stylistically, you'll notice that the "Been There" mug is slightly different than the "You Are Here" mug. While the art on the "You Are Here" mug looks like a polished painting, the art on the "Been There" mug is more like an artist's sketch—the cross-hatching makes up for the shading in details, like Sleeping Beauty's Castle tower. For example, the Disneyland Park Been There mug, which is a feature the "You Are Here" mug doesn't have. If the "You Are Here" mug represents cells from a finished animated piece, the "Been There" mug might be considered concept art. They have a slightly unfinished, intentionally unfinished look - personally I find that attractive, but that's just me. But regardless, they're still beautiful and would undoubtedly make a great addition to any Disney or Starbucks lover's collection.
For now, it appears the mugs can only be purchased in the park. However, as we've seen in the past, park-exclusive merchandise does often make its way to Disney's online store, shopDisney, at some point after its debut, so you may be able to order them from the comfort of your own computer at some point. A little bit of the future. In the meantime, though, if you find photos, please post them - I'm sure I'm not the only one living through someone else's social media feed right now!
