This year's awards season is extremely competitive and completely unpredictable, which means the 2024 Oscars are sure to be fierce. That proved true when Zazie Beetz and Jack Quiid's nominations were announced on January 23rd.
As expected, Oppenheimer dominated the 96th Academy Awards nominations with an impressive 13 nominations. Barbie, its counterpart to "Bappenheimer," also had a good morning, racking up eight nominations, although it received two major snubs, to the dismay of fans on X (formerly Twitter) disturbed.
Christopher Nolan's epic is followed by Emma Stone's adventure "Poor Things" with 11 nominations, and Martin Scorsese's acclaimed "Killers of the Flower Moon" with 10 nominations. Bradley Cooper's Leonard Bernstein biopic "The Master" received seven nominations.

America Ferrera surprised everyone with a Best Supporting Actress nomination for "Barbie" after not receiving any lead nominations all season long, proving the power of Gloria's feminist monologue in the film strength.
