With all the red carpet looks flooding your Instagram timeline this awards season, it's easy to let a star's look slip by without giving it the applause it deserves. If you're looking back at the highlights of last weekend — Sunday's 2024 Critics' Choice Awards and Monday's 2024 Emmy Awards — make a moment for Billie Eilish.
On Sunday, she attended her first Critics' Choice Awards, where she was nominated for best song ("What Was I Made For?" from Barbie ). Although she lost to "I'm Just Ken," also from "Barbie ," she undeniably won the red carpet.
Billie's dignified and appropriate corset look
Eilish put all her sartorial skills to work in a custom Thom Browne ensemble that matched her love of polished silhouettes and punk influences. She buttoned a white collared shirt all the way to the Peter Pan collar, giving the outfit a library feel.
To top it off, she wore a tight little black dress. The midi dress features an edgy bodice that hits the ankle, where the hem of an extra-long button-down shirt peeks out.
For footwear, the "Happier Than Ever" singer kept true to her penchant for grunge separates by opting for a pair of ultra-high strappy black platform pumps, also from the studio.
Keeping with the librarian vibe, she wore round glasses that matched the rest of her silver accessories (mismatched earrings and a chunky ring).
Eilish opted for a low-key beauty look, pulling her fiery red hair back into a loose ponytail and opting for simple, moody eyeshadow.
it continues the winning streak
A week before the Critics' Choice Awards, Eilish also wore a statement collar at the 2024 Golden Globes.
On the occasion of January 7, she also took a dark academic route. On her upper body, she wore a blue striped button-down shirt and a loose black blazer underneath. Lower down, she donned a khaki midi skirt, which she paired with pink socks and preppy Mary Jane flats.
A few days ago, she attended the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala wearing a zip-up hoodie, layered with another menswear-style button-down shirt. On that occasion, Eilish donned baggy cropped pants, Gucci loafers, and a silk headscarf.
Leave it to Eilish to make the button-down a punk rock staple.
