Jennifer Aniston recalls the 'magic' of her first season of 'Friends'

Jennifer Aniston is recalling the "magic" of her early days on Friends . In a new interview with People , the actor reflects on the sitcom, in which she played Rachel Green for ten seasons, and recalls one of the first cast photos from the first season.

"I think we had a sheet over us, but I didn't know what that meant," she said. "Oh, everything is the most exciting thing on the planet. It's just magic. There's nothing that's not exciting. Everything is exciting."

Aniston also spoke to the magazine about her first visit to the Friends set at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. "I do remember walking on the set and I don't know, this is magic. It's the best," she said. “The cast that I’ve met, the show that I’ve been able to be a part of has touched a lot of people and will continue to touch people — that’s probably the most important thing.”

Aniston also shared "many" life lessons she learned on the sitcom, Revealing what she would tell her younger self today. "That feeling of not working for 'success' but just working - keep that feeling," she said. "Be patient, be kind, and treat your fellow actors with respect. And just tell the truth."

This isn't the first time Aniston has reflected on a recent episode of Friends . In a 2023 interview with the Wall Street Journal , the actor recalled his time on the show, which premiered 30 years ago.

"I had auditioned the day before. I really, really wanted it," she said. "I did my best and went home. I think that was the day, I got the job at 2 o'clock that afternoon."

In a separate interview with PopSugar, she revealed that she regretted "splurging" with her first Friends paycheck, revealing that she bought a Mercedes "with a for sale sign on it." Then she added: "I drove it, and then I drove it again. And it never drove again. It was a lemon."
