"It's kind of like, you're marrying a captain and you say, 'Well, I don't like the water,'" he continued. "We're just two people trying to learn to compromise in different ways."

Affleck and Lopez began dating in 2002 after meeting on the set of "Geely." The two originally planned to marry in 2003, but canceled the ceremony and split in early 2004. After 17 years, the two rekindled their old relationship and bonded. Ending in 2022.

Lopez also admitted during a screening of the Amazon Prime version that Affleck was an "unwilling participant" in the documentary. However, after warming up to the project, he later became involved in the creative process.

"It wasn't my idea to capture every moment of this," she revealed, "My husband was actually at the forefront of the whole thing and said, 'We should capture this,' and he brought this A great team, that’s how it happened.”
