Penn Badgley gets pranked by 'Gossip Girl' co-star Blake Lively

Blake Lively has a history of pulling pranks on those closest to her, including her former Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgley.

During a recent episode of his Podcrushed podcast, Bagley recalled one of her "terrific pranks" in which she made him believe Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was his father.

"I can't focus on pranks. In fact, I really admire people who do that," the actor told his podcast co-hosts Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari ( Sophie Ansari). "I remember Blake Lively, who may or may not be famous for this, was very serious about pranks."

This prank happened during their "Gossip Girl" heyday. "I got an email that was like, 'We're trying to take this story down, but you know, someone thinks or Steve Taylor thinks he's your father,'" he said.

Lively apparently got his manager, publicist, and mother in on the joke, and convinced Bagley to call his mom to check in.

"My mom is not an actress, so she's not a prankster, and she was frustrated," he continued. "I said, 'Mom why are you upset?!' And then she paused, and like, that pause gave me away, and she said, 'Why do you think we're moving out of Maryland?'"

After being "speechless" for a few seconds, he quickly realized what day it was. "Oh shit, April Fools' Day," Bagley recalled of the moment, adding that Lively "couldn't keep a straight face" when he finally learned the truth.

Bagley and Lively starred together on Gossip Girl for six seasons, playing Dan Humphreys and Serena Vanderwoodsen, respectively. The two dated in real life for three years before splitting in 2010, but remain good friends. Bagley tied the knot with his wife, Domino Kirke, in 2017, while Lively recently celebrated her 11th wedding anniversary with husband Ryan Reynolds, who also Falling victim to her fun-loving ways.
