Jennifer Lopez Shares Ben Affleck's Engagement Ring Story

Jennifer Lopez is looking back on her first engagement to Ben Affleck. During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! During the appearance, Lopez discussed her first meeting with Barbra Streisand 20 years ago, when the hitmaker drew attention to her diamond ring.

"She asked to see my engagement ring, which Ben had given me years ago," Lopez recalled, adding that when Streisand quipped, "That's a big diamond," she replied, "Yes Yes."

In the subsequent interview, the singer also discussed her upcoming This Is Me... Live tour and joked about the discovery of her two children (16-year-old twins Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony) It was "awkward" watching her "do sexy things on stage."

"Don't you do sexy things at home?" Kimmel asked, to which Lopez replied: "I do sexy things at home sometimes, but they don't know."

Lopez's comments follow recent reports that she and Affleck are going through marital difficulties. According to People magazine , the couple was photographed together for the first time in 47 days on May 19, both wearing wedding rings.

Affleck and Lopez began dating in 2002 after meeting on the set of "Geely." The two originally planned to get married in 2003, but later called off the wedding and split in early 2004.

In a February interview with Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe, Lopez reflected on their canceled wedding and revealed that the postponement "cast doubt" on their relationship.

"I knew in my heart that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, I knew that. But it felt like we weren't going to make it," she said. "So, that scared me." The singer also said their age played a big factor in their decision to break up, admitting they were "immature" at the time.

The couple finally tied the knot in the summer of 2022 after rekindling their relationship 17 years after their breakup.

Their wedding followed Affleck's second proposal in April of that year, during which he reportedly presented Lopez with a bright green diamond ring. While the price of an engagement ring can only be estimated, a similar-looking ring sold at Sotheby's in 2009 for $3.1 million.
