The psychological horror film "Flawless " is a nightmare. With its gore and jump scares, it took star Sydney Sweeney, as well as moviegoers, on a wild ride. Still, she's a long-time fan of the genre, and perhaps ironically, her inspiration for making this gory film is truly touching.

Although Sweeney is new to making horror films, she has been watching them for years. She explained in a March 22 Instagram post that her father, Steven, got her into the genre when she was a child. It was this shared love that inspired her to make Immaculate .
"Started watching horror movies with my dad that he loved and now we're watching horror movies that I make," she wrote. "Thank you dad for showing me all the great things growing up and doing this for you."
Sweeney's father isn't on social media, but she joked that "emotions matter" and encouraged her fans to take their dads to see "Flawless." She also showed fans the Sweeneys' movie date at the film's Los Angeles premiere. From her video of the event, we can see that he had no idea what to expect but was really enjoying it.

According to Steven, Sweeney "likes to plan things for [him] that surprise [him]." "I sat down and watched Euphoria once," he said in her Instagram video. "It's not going very well."
Clearly, she learned nothing from the experience. Sweeney also brought her two grandmothers to the premiere of "Flawless," without warning them of the level of gore that was to come. "I was so nervous wondering what they were going to think," she later told Entertainment Weekly . "Some of my [reactions] were, my grandma leaned forward and looked at me, 'Oh my gosh, Sydney.'"
Luckily, her grandmother had a wonderful time as an extra in the movie. Sweeney told Entertainment Weekly they both dreamed of going to Italy, so she flew them out for a week and appeared in a church scene. “They got to see my work,” she says, “and I can cement that memory forever in a movie that I can watch — which is awesome.”
perfect experience
Her work on "Flawless" was unforgettable. In another post about the film on Instagram on March 23, Sweeney thanked her "entire cast and crew." "I can't thank you enough for such an amazing experience," she wrote in part. "None of this would be possible without your trust, hard work, and fun, crazy energy. Seeing this film brought to life after so many years is a dream come true."
