You could get paid $5,000 a week to eat chops across the country — here's how to apply

Are you a BBQ expert? do you like travel? Do you like to eat ribs? Do you like talking about food? Good news: Reynolds Wrap is currently hiring for a “Chief Grilling Officer,” a position whose job description includes all of the above and more. A new position for 2019 is designed to help Reynolds Wrap find the best barbecue ribs in America. So, yes, your job is literally to travel the country eating ribs and sharing your story, helping to raise the profile of niche barbecue joints and shining a light on deserving ribs along the way. Not a bad summer job, right?

Although it's technically just a "job," the lucky person who gets the position will be out of the office for two weeks. It'll be your job to travel from city to city, tasting ribs, taking photos, and sharing your stories on the Reynolds Kitchens website and social channels. You'll also be responsible for sharing as many tips as possible you've learned along the way so that people grilling at home can learn some tricks of the trade. That is, you’re not just telling people where to go to get the best ribs, you’re also telling them how to make the best ribs at home. After all, this is a Reynolds-sponsored post, so you'll be empowering home grillers to use Reynolds wraps as their secret weapon for an effortless and efficient grilling experience.

As for pay, rest assured you will be well compensated. You will receive a $10,000 stipend plus prepaid travel and lodging expenses for you and your guests. So all you have to do is show up with buds and a big appetite. Yes, it takes your friends to work every day, every day at work. If you want to see what the job is actually like and what exactly it will require of you, you can check out last year's winners and read about all the relevant experience to see if you're up for the challenge. While we don’t know which stops this year’s tour will include, we do know that last year’s BBQ tour included Nashville, Memphis, Kansas City, Dallas, and Austin, and you can read about each BBQ spot on the website. Spoiler alert: The job requires you to eat a lot of meat and share a lot of photos in which you're probably covered in barbecue sauce or sweating because the meat will be sweaty, because August.

If you think you have enough barbecue enthusiasm for a job that requires you to eat, sleep, and breathe chops for two weeks, and you have the time and ability to travel in August, you'll want to apply as soon as possible. That said, don’t apply if you can’t get off work or travel for two weeks. To apply, all you have to do is submit a photo of yourself grilling your favorite recipe (they want to make sure it's truly your passion), and a 100-word essay explaining why you're the best for the job Candidate. Please send your submissions to careers@ReynoldsWrapCGO.com by midnight on Wednesday, June 19.
