Airbnb Inc. has purchased 10 floors of the famed Rockefeller Plaza building and will convert the space into 200 rentable luxury suites to truly immerse visitors in the attraction, Bloomberg reports. If your criteria include epic views, historic attractions, chic style, and unique experiences like never before, then you'll want to check out this new company.

Airbnb Inc. has partnered with RXR Realty, one of New York City's largest real estate companies, to transform commercial spaces into a home away from home for urban travelers seeking the most authentic New York experience. Target? According to Airbnb's press release, it "offers guests a curated, authentic New York experience with a sense of community typically reserved for locals." Not only can guests stay in the building, which houses an elite social club, business center, and curated events and courses), but also have access to digital and physical concierge services to ensure they get the most out of their stay. This is perhaps the most connected and hotel-like situation in Airbnb, but it's still not technically a hotel.

Airbnb and RXR Realty are committed to breaking the travel bubble and fine-tuning the experience to give out-of-towners a chance to immerse themselves in New York, no matter how long they stay. The accommodations will be aimed at travelers in town for business and leisure, and honestly, it sounds like they're trying to blur the lines between the two.

While Rockefeller Plaza is definitely the iconic centerpiece of Manhattan, Airbnb and RXR Realty know visitors will also seek out immersive experiences in Brooklyn. That's why they also work at 47 Hall Street across from the Brooklyn Navy Yard in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. They are renovating a 10-building campus to create an arts community for makers, creatives, tech visionaries, architects and foodies. "The project's carefully curated retail mix, exciting events calendar, active public spaces, targeted local partnerships and socially responsible focus will inspire a magnetic culture," Airbnb said in a statement. So whether you're enjoying skyscraper views from inside a skyscraper or experiencing Brooklyn in the heart of the borough, you'll have hundreds of new Airbnb options available in the near future. When they become available for rent, they will be listed exclusively on Airbnb’s official website.
