The easiest way to clear your Roku cache is to use its built-in system restart command.
Turn on your Roku stick or Roku TV and wait for it to reach the home screen.
Select Settings from the menu.
Select system .
Select System Restart .
Wait for Roku to restart. The cache should now be cleared.
Roku TV and Roku streaming sticks also have remote control commands that you can use to quickly clear cache and restart the device.
Turn on your Roku stick or Roku TV and pick up the remote.
Make sure the "Home " icon is highlighted.
Press the Home button on the remote five times.
Press the up arrow on the remote once.
Press the rewind button on the remote twice.
Press the fast forward button on the remote twice.
Your Roku will then shuffle through the menu for a second before pausing and restarting. Wait for it to reboot and your Roku cache should be cleared.
If you find that the above methods don't help, or you want a more direct method of clearing cache, you can always close and reopen your Roku.
Unplug the Roku stick from the ports (including HDMI and USB connectors). Alternatively, unplug the TV's power cord from the wall outlet or electrical outlet. Then, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.
Reopen the Roku stick or Roku TV and the cache should be cleared. Hopefully the device will run better again.
