This Windows 11 update brings more AI features

The latest Windows 11 update does a lot to fix flaws in Microsoft's operating system, but it also activates various Moment 5 features that the company has been teasing for a while.

Of course, there are a slew of new changes thanks to Microsoft's latest Windows 11 operating system update. However, the new Moment 5 feature that the company teased a few months ago is the most exciting. Chief among these changes are new voice access features and improvements to Narrator in Windows 11.

You can now use your mouse in multiple windows using voice access in Windows 11. Microsoft has also made it easier to set up voice shortcuts in the Voice Access command window. These shortcuts let you use your voice to copy and paste text, open specific files, open applications, URLs, and even press certain keyboard keys or click your mouse.

The company has also added several new natural sounds to its screen reading tools, and you can find all of these changes in the Accessibility section of Windows 11.

Some of the best deals on Windows 11 laptops right now:

  • Samsung Galaxy Book4 15.6-inch laptop with Intel i7 512GB SSD 16GB RAM for $699.99 (list price $899.99)

  • Dell Inspiron 15 3525 Laptop with Ryzen 5 512GB SSD 8GB RAM for $299.99 (list price $449.99)

  • ASUS VivoBook 16X 16-inch laptop with Ryzen 7 512GB SSD 12GB RAM for $449.99 (list price $749.99)

Microsoft has also updated its Snap Layout feature, which allows you to easily arrange various windows into certain settings based on new artificial intelligence suggestions. Snap Layouts have been a mainstay of Windows 11 for a while, but this does allow you to create better pre-made layouts using AI to determine which windows should be larger and which should be smaller.

If you haven't used Align Layout before, you can turn it on by navigating to System > Multitasking and selecting Align windows to open. You can also explore various options here.

Android is no longer the only operating system with Magic Eraser capabilities. That's because Microsoft has now added AI-powered features to the Windows 11 Photos app. This feature can be accessed in Photos. Once you select it from the toolbar, just highlight the items you want to delete and it will use Generate Erase to clean up the picture.

Another update for Moment 5 is that Microsoft now lets you customize where widgets are sorted. This should allow you to better set them up the way you want, although it's unclear how much control we'll have over future categories. Still, it's a great addition to widgets if you use them.

Finally, the release of the Moment 5 update means local users on Windows 11 finally have a chance to try Copilot (if they've always wanted to). You can only use it ten times, but that should be enough for you to decide if you'd like to upgrade to a Microsoft account for less restricted access. There are also a number of EU-only features available in Moment 5, including the option to remove Bing and Edge from Windows 11. Unfortunately, these options are not yet available in the US and other regions.
