How to delete apps on Samsung Smart TV

This article explains how to delete Samsung TV apps on models manufactured after 2015.

Use these instructions to delete apps on Samsung TVs manufactured in 2021 to 2023.

  1. If you're not there yet, press "Home" on your remote. Then, scroll up to reach the top bar, then move to the right and select the Settings/Gear icon.

  2. Navigate to the app you want to delete so that it is highlighted.

  3. Scroll down and select Delete from the pop-up menu.

  4. Select Delete again to confirm.

Please follow the steps below to delete apps on your 2020 (TU/Q/LS series) Samsung TV:

  1. Press the Home button on your remote to bring up Smart Center, then select Settings .

  2. Scroll down to the Support tab (cloud with question mark) and select Device Maintenance .

  3. Wait for the TV to run a quick scan, then select Manage storage .

  4. Select the app you want to remove and select Remove .

  5. Select OK to confirm.

  6. A status bar will appear showing the progress of the deletion. When it reaches 100%, select OK . This application should no longer appear in your viewing selections.

Follow the steps below to remove apps on 2017 (M/MU/Q/LS series), 2018 (N/NU/Q/LS series), and 2019 (R/RU/Q/LS series) Samsung TVs:

  1. Press the Home button on the remote control to access the Samsung TV Smart Hub.

  2. Use the remote control's arrow keys to select the "Applications" icon (four small boxes).

  3. Select Settings (gear icon) located in the upper right corner of the screen.

  4. Scroll down to the Downloaded Apps section and select the app you want to delete.

  5. Select Delete from the pop-up menu. You may be prompted to select Delete again to confirm.

    Samsung's preinstalled apps, such as Netflix, can't be removed, but you can delete them from your home screen.

Please follow the steps below to remove apps on 2016 (K/KU/KS series) and 2015 (J/JU/JS series) Samsung TVs:

  1. Press the Home button on your remote and select Apps .

  2. Select My App .

  3. Select the option at the bottom of the application screen.

    On J/JU/JS series TVs, options and deletions are located at the top of the screen.

  4. Select Delete from the menu.

  5. Select the app you want to delete.

    Factory-installed apps will be grayed out because they cannot be removed.

  6. Select Delete at the bottom of the screen.

  7. Select Delete again to confirm.

  8. A status bar will appear showing the progress of the deletion. When it reaches 100%, select OK . This application should no longer appear in your viewing selections.

If you can't (or don't want to) delete an app, you can at least delete it from the main menu:

Depending on your TV model and year, the steps may vary, so if the following process doesn't work, refer to your user manual.

  1. Highlight the app you want to remove from the home screen.

  2. Press the down button on the remote control.

  3. Select Delete and then select Delete again in the confirmation box that pops up. The app should no longer appear on the home screen.

    You can also move an app's position on the app bar by selecting Move .

You can still access apps removed from the Home screen on the My Apps page .
