Starbucks just added a new pink guava passion fruit drink to its summer menu

If summer has a flavor, it's the combination of two new summer drinks from Starbucks: Iced Guava Passion Fruit Beverage (new for summer 2020) and the fan-favorite S'mores Frappuccino. Even if you can't sit by the pool like usual, drinking these drinks will get you into the summer mindset as quickly as possible.

Let's start with our old friend the S'mores Frappuccino. Launched in 2015, this summer drink quickly became a favorite with everyone who tried it. Very nostalgic. so cute. It just comes back every once in a while, making it even more desirable. If you haven't had a chance to try it yet, the S'mores Frappuccino is...pretty much what it sounds like. There are layers of marshmallow whipped cream, milk chocolate sauce, and a base of vanilla, coffee, milk, and ice. Finished with more marshmallow whipped cream and graham cracker crumbles. This is more than you can drink. This is a s'more that you can dunk a real s'more into. It's perfection in a cup.

Now, let’s discuss the new girl on the scene: the Ice Guava Passion Fruit Drink Lady. Yes, you have to call her by her four names. She's the pink drink you keep telling your other pink drinks not to worry about. It combines flavors of guava, passion fruit, pineapple and ginger and is hand-shaken with coconut milk and ice. She's like Ice Tango's cool cousin, here for the summer. Additionally, she joins Starbucks' growing menu of dairy-free beverages that are dairy-free. If you heard anything, it was my stomach preemptively thanking me for not ruining it with lactose.

Starbucks

According to an email from a Starbucks spokesperson, more than 85% of Starbucks stores have reopened and 90% are expected to be open by early June. As states begin to reopen and shelter-in-place orders expire, many businesses are working to reopen safely while keeping public health in mind. Like other reopening stores, Starbucks has adapted safety protocols based on standards set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to minimize risk to customers and employees.

If you want to try these two new drinks, you have a few options to maintain social distance and keep yourself and others safe. You can order through the Starbucks app, which gives you contactless payment options. You can then pick up your drink at Starbucks, ensuring proper social distancing is maintained. If social distancing is not possible, wear a mask to keep yourself and others safe.

You can also use Starbucks delivery service through Uber Eats. (They are currently offering free shipping.) You can enjoy your drinks without leaving home. Be sure to tip your delivery person appropriately!
