Stop Everything – McDonald’s Is Reintroducing the Cheese Melting Scoop for Christmas 2021

Just as the festive season is about to begin, McDonald's released a tear-jerking Christmas ad earlier this week (which introduced the world to an "imaginary Iggy"). Next up, the fast-food chain is gearing up to launch its 2021 Christmas menu, which includes foil-decorated versions of its famous favorites.

Available from November 17, McDonald's has revamped the classic Chicken Legend with new Christmas ingredients. Coming soon is the Festive Crispy Chicken (£4.89 or £6.39 per meal) topped with cranberry sauce, sage, onion mayonnaise, bacon, red onion, lettuce and cheddar cheese.

The Christmas menu also includes the Festive Stack Burger (priced at £4.89 or £6.39 per meal), which features two beef patties with red onion relish, white cheese sauce, bacon, crispy onions, red onions, lettuce and sliced cheese. As well as this, McDonald's will also be offering a Double Big Mac (£4.19 or £5.69 as a meal), which comes with four patties, as well as a Jamaican Grilled Chicken Sandwich (£4.39 for a single or £5.69 for a meal).

Of course, it wouldn't be a Christmas menu without seasonal desserts, and McDonald's is offering four solid desserts, including a Celebration McFlurry (£1.49) and a Festive Pie (£1.19).

Competing with the likes of Pret and Costa, McDonald's is also offering a small selection of festive hot drinks, including a chocolate fudge latte (£1.79 regular) and hot chocolate deluxe (£1.39).

Perhaps most excitingly, the restaurant will be re-launching its popular cheese melting spoon (£1.89) and sharing box. The news sparked huge enthusiasm on McDonald's Instagram page, with radio DJ Roman Kemp writing: "Give me all the cheese spoons" and TOWIE 's Georgia Kousoulou commenting "YESSSSSAS".

All of these holiday treats are available through December 29, but before you head to your nearest drive-thru, it's worth noting that the Double Big Mac, Mozzarella, and Crunchy McFlurry are temporarily off the shelves until January.
