Pret launches new coffee deal, 5 cups a day for £20 a month

If you've ever commuted in a big city, you've likely seen people walking past you with coffee in hand. Waking up early can be difficult, and a little caffeine pick-me-up can make the feeling of being crowded with other workers at dawn more bearable. However, as people have been working from home, coffee shops are feeling the financial pressure of declining commuter trade. However, Pret's new deal lets you get all the coffee you want at a really good price.

Before the pandemic, cafes around office buildings were an important stop before work. While people have adapted well to working from home, Pratt is working hard to make up for missed sales. Pret a Manger offers up to five coffees a day if customers sign up for a £20-a-month subscription. That's a lot of caffeine. The deal includes every barista-made hot beverage on the menu, including teas, iced drinks and smoothies.

If you take advantage of this offer, that could equate to nearly 150 drinks. When a classic smoothie costs £2.95 and a flat white costs £2.15, those savings can quickly add up. If you're a coffee lover and have a Pret nearby, it might be time to swap your morning instant coffee for something fancier.

The pandemic has hit the high street hard, and coffee chains are no exception. News boss Pano Christou told the Today programme: "There is no doubt that workers will be coming into the office less than before. Pret needs to adapt to changes in customer patterns and this is something we have been very focused on ”

The coffee subscription service will launch on September 8, and Pret's coffee and packaging director Briony Raven told the BBC, "This is Pret's way of showing loyalty. It's about giving people an easy choice when they go back to their daily lives."
