Sunday, July 18 is National Ice Cream Day, which couldn't come at a better time considering the current heat wave. If you don't want to eat dairy, there's no need to miss out on the festivities, because Ben & Jerry's just launched four new vegan flavors...and they all sound incredible.
The new offerings kick off with ‘Change The Whirled’, a delicious-sounding treat with a conscience. It has a dairy-free sunflower butter base and caramel-flavored ice cream with fudge chips, graham cracker swirls and chocolate chip cookie swirls. It commemorates Colin Kaepernick, an American athlete and activist who has been committed to the pursuit of racial justice, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to his Know Your Rights Camp.
Save Our Swirled Now is another vegan ice cream with a charitable twist. It was developed in conjunction with the Climate Alliance. Ben & Jerry's invites fans to show their solidarity in demanding leaders create a cleaner, more equitable future for all, and has begun publishing a statement you can sign online now. It's a coconut flavored ice cream with caramel, chocolate chunks and a delicious cookie swirl.
The brand also launched Cookies on Cookie Dough, another dairy-free product that features caramel ice cream with cookie swirls and is filled with vegan cookie dough and chocolate chunks. Then there's Peanut Butter & Cookies, which is vegan vanilla ice cream with crunchy peanut butter swirls stuffed with chocolate sandwich cookies.
While Change The Whirled is exclusive to Domino's, the other three flavors are available in supermarkets nationwide. Each tub costs £5.49.
If you like dairy, you can also buy Ben & Jerry's new Twist flavors Dough-ble Chocolate or Rain-Dough, as well as a pack of Peace Pops, which launched in January. Or get a bucket of each and choose your favorite.
