You can now buy fish and fish chip flavored mochi balls

Over the past year, #LittleMoons have become a regular feature on TikTok in the UK. Users across the country are sharing their trips to the supermarket in search of these delicious mochi ice cream balls, so much so that retailers are struggling to keep up with demand. Here's where to buy mini moons in the UK as they sell out quickly.

Tesco was originally the only major retailer selling these mochi, but now you can find them in Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose and Sainsbury's.

Waitrose and Sainbury's are also selling frozen cheesecake versions, but these are only available through their sushi counters, which are only available in a handful of stores.

Selection is limited at all five supermarkets, but you can buy all 12 flavors, including three vegan ones, through online supermarket Ocado. However, it still lacks some flavor. In June, Little Moons launched three limited-edition flavors, just in time for summer. These include marshmallows, Eton Mess and... fish and chips? Yeah, I don't really want to try that either. If you can't find these products in your supermarket, you can buy them directly from the Little Moons website.

According to Instagram's Kevs Snack Reviews, you'd better keep an eye out for Tesco's new Belgian Chocolate and Hazelnut flavours, too.

If you're in the right area, you can order Little Moons through Deliveroo's Honi Poke, Farmshop and Sushi Daily. If you live in London, you can also order through Uber Eats and Amazon Fresh.

For consumers in London, Little Moons has dedicated select mixed stores in Westfield, Selfridges across the city, and three Whole Foods stores in Kensington High Street, Fulham, Richmond and Piccadilly branch.

According to iNews, #LittleMoons was viewed more than 50 million times, which subsequently drove Little Moons sales to increase by 700%. "It's incredible to see this take off and see how much people love Little Moons," the brand's co-CEO Howard Wong said in a statement. "Our sales are incredible. It's growing exponentially and we're seeing empty shelves across all retailers and we're urgently restocking so we don't disappoint those trying to buy Little Moon."

Launched in 2010 by brother and sister Howard and Vivien Wong, Little Moons is ice cream wrapped in Japanese rice flour dough. Little Moon explains on their website that the thin layer of mochi is "steamed and pounded, giving it a unique soft and chewy texture." They also recommend waiting five minutes after removing it from the refrigerator before eating , because the ice cream is high-density ice cream. These five minutes soften the ice cream and give you a "richer flavor."

So grab some mini moons while you can, because they're quickly becoming a major food trend for 2021.
