It's difficult to keep up with the various Marmite spin-offs launched in recent years. We’ve had Marmite waffles, Marmite hummus…even Marmite cream. Now we've added another beer to the mix, with famous London brewery Camden Town soon to be selling a Marmite-flavored beer. Here's everything we know so far about the controversial new drink.
Camden Town Brewery has teamed up with Marmite to produce its new Love or Hate Ale. To do this, the team first blended Pilsner, Munich, and smoked Rauch malts, and added Perl hops from the classic Hellbier. The final step is to add yeast paste, creating a smoky beer with Marmite.
You'll be able to buy the beer for a limited time from 13 September at retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Co-op, Ocado, Waitrose and Morrison's. Consumers can also buy a pack from Camden Alehouse or the Camden online store, with four packs priced at £8.
Ashleigh Amos, head of brand experience and partnerships at Camden Town Brewery, said: “Marmite is an iconic brand that has been dividing the country for over 100 years, so we wanted to There’s no brand more iconic to partner with for a collaborative beer,” in a statement sent to Bustle UK. “Combining the unique flavor of Marmite with our never-pasteurized beer may seem impossible at first – but trust us, you’ll love it.”
Camden Town Brewery has fans buzzing after it unveiled its new product on Instagram. "No no no," one commenter wrote, while others simply responded with vomit emojis. However, one person wrote: "Can't wait!!" Others expressed their enthusiasm, tagging their friends and saying "we need to try this".
