One might imagine Iggy Azalea as the kind of badass who gets tattoos whenever the mood strikes her. I also speculated that she may have had so many injections by now that she could barely feel the pain of the needles. While Azalea has some awesome tattoos that stand out on the red carpet, you might be surprised to know just how many tattoos Iggy Azalea has. She has a lot less body art than you might think.
Azalea has yet to publicly give an exact number, but as far as I know, the Australian rapper only has five tattoos. Even though she's not covered in secret skin drawings, she's basically as carefree and inked as you'd imagine. In 2012, she told Dazed magazine that each of her tattoos was inked on the same day she had the idea. Hey, if there was a free soul, it would be a girl, and her birth name was Amethyst, amirite?
In addition to spontaneity being an integral part of her tattooing style, she also feels a sense of control over her body when she tattoos. she says:
I was reading about tattoos because I wanted to know why I did crazy things and they said how to make something become a part of your body is a way for you to try and control something in your mind. you know what I mean? When you feel out of control?
With that declaration out of the way, let’s analyze Iggy’s body art quotient.
On her right forearm is written "Believe in your struggle"
Azalea didn't get her first tattoo until she moved to Los Angeles in 2010 at the age of 18. As she told Dazed , she saw the words "Trust Your Struggle" written in graffiti and had it tattooed on her right arm for nearly 20 minutes. after.
On the fingers of his left hand it says "Live Love A$AP"
Azalea got the tattoo in 2011, while she was dating rapper A$AP Rocky. In 2012, she got an X tattooed on A$AP, erasing her memory of her "ex" tattoo, which ironically is the only piece of body art she got that wasn't done on a whim. She told Hot 97 that her tattoo change wasn't out of any dissatisfaction. Instead, she just thought it was a little weird to have her ex-boyfriend's name tattooed on her body after a breakup.
"New Classics" on the fingers of her right hand
The same year Iggy got her A$AP tattoo, she got a mirrored phrase tattooed on her other hand: "New Classic." Hey! This is the name of her album!
"Colour Me Free" on her right foot
Who doesn’t like having ancient calligraphy tattooed on their feet?
Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" on the right forearm
Azalea had this Italian Renaissance masterpiece carved into her arm to cover up a previous flower tattoo on her wrist. Artist Corey Davis recreated the iconic image for Iggy in 2012, the same year she released her debut EP , Glory .
Add them all together and you get Iggy Azalea's canvas.
