Cardi B makes history again with Vogue cover

Magazine covers are not only a place to break news, but also to showcase those who are breaking barriers. It's only natural that Cardi B and her daughter Kulture appear on the latest cover of Vogue . Cardi is just one of several other famous mothers to grace the January cover of a fashion magazine with their kids. Vogue also features Ashley Graham, Greta Gerwig and Stella McCartney, all mothers (or Graham's mother-to-be).

Cardi has been slaying the game and breaking records since before her album Invasion of Privacy was released and became the first female-produced project to win a Grammy for Best Rap Album. Now, the "Boogie Down Bronx" star has become the first female rapper to grace the cover of Vogue .

For the photo, shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, Cardi is seen in head-to-toe red, wearing a Michael Kors Collection polka dot dress and matching red Jimmy Choo shoes. The rap star looked naturally stunning, with her curls, wet locks and fringes to perfection. While Cardi looks absolutely stunning and perfect on the cover, in an interview with the magazine, the rapper described how she has to try to balance the ups and downs of superstardom with being a mother and wife.

While this is a huge accomplishment, the rapper has yet to share it on social media. Maybe she's too busy making the next album. In a Twitter video posted on November 25, Cardi explained that she hadn't been "on the scene" in a while after missing out on winning the AMAs and Soul Train Awards. She did, however, admit that she "had a blast in the studio." Cardi revealed in an interview with Vogue that she was desperate for her first album to be a success as she was the first to have a hit since Lauryn Hill's Doo Wop (That Thing) song by female rapper.

"I don't even care if people like it," she told Vogue. "When I found out I was doing so well, I thought, is that a huge number? Everyone was like, 'Yeah, that's a huge number.' "So it's scary because, like, now you have to be on your first album and be like, damn. I wonder if people are going to be into this new thing, the new life, the new thing that I'm going to talk about now resonance."

One of those "new" things is motherhood, and Cardi talks about how difficult it is to navigate life as a mother, wife, and celebrity while maintaining her Bronx-based personality and humor. But in the interview, she reiterated that being a mother brought her back to why she got into this job.

"As a mom — what should I say? Things are a little hard to balance, but it's good for the spirit," Cardi shared. "Like, if I play with my daughter, I forget about these problems."
