Honest Reviews of Dunkin' 3 New Canned Coffee Flavors

Even if you're not a Ben Affleck-level fan, you know there's no better combination than iced coffee and dessert from Dunkin'. But what if you could combine these two items into one? Well, now you can, because on February 27, the coffee giant is launching a new line of ready-to-drink (RTD) coffees inspired by your favorite Dunkin' baked goods. But before you change your morning coffee routine, you might be wondering whether your new cup of coffee is as sweet as it sounds. I tried Dunkin' new canned coffee, and this review details everything you need to know about the bakery's flavor.

The ready-to-drink beverages, called the Dunkin' Iced Coffee Bakery Series, combine Dunkin' signature iced coffee with real milk and cane sugar and come in three familiar flavors: Cake Batter Donut, Coffee Cake Waffle and Brownie Batter donuts. Cake batter donuts are made with the delicious goodness of vanilla cake, while brownie batter donuts have the same rich chocolate flavor of your favorite OG donuts. Coffee cake muffins, on the other hand, have a hint of spice thanks to the woody cinnamon flavor. The drinks are only sold in retail and convenience stores, which means you don't have to go to your local Dunkies to buy coffee.

As someone with a sweet tooth, you can imagine that this statement immediately caught my attention. But do these drinks really live up to their reputation? I conducted a taste test to find out, and here's what I thought of each flavor.

Cake Batter Donut Flavor Reviews

As soon as I opened the jar I smelled a distinct smell of vanilla. Although the drink has a bakery-like aroma, it has a nice balance of vanilla and coffee flavors. The coffee taste isn't too strong, which I can appreciate as someone who prefers sweeter coffee to darker roasts. I usually enjoy drinking coffee throughout the day, but the super smooth and milky texture of this drink made me want to drink the whole thing in record time.

Coffee Cake Muffin Flavor Reviews

I love coffee cake, so when I opened the can I was delighted to smell that familiar coffee cake aroma. The aroma is a good preview of what's to come, as the drink's cinnamon and coffee blend tastes exactly like breakfast baked goods in liquid form.

The coffee flavor was even more pronounced than the cake batter donut (no surprise - it's in the name), but it didn't dominate the drink as much as I thought it would. With each sip, the sweet cinnamon spice comes out first and the coffee flavor is enough at the end. While I usually don't like drinks where the coffee flavor is prominent, this one is probably my favorite because it perfectly replicates the taste of T Coffee Cake.

Brownie Batter Donut Flavor Reviews

Unlike the other two flavors, the flavor of this drink doesn't come out immediately after opening the can. As soon as I smell it, I can smell the rich chocolate aroma, but it forces you to do the work. That being said, the strong cocoa scent can be overwhelming, especially if you're not a chocolate fan, so I think the subtle scent works in its favor.

The brownie batter donut tasted different from the others because I honestly didn't taste the coffee. It tastes like chocolate milk with a heavy syrup content. This one is definitely for coffee lovers who don’t like the taste of coffee at all.

Overall, I felt like the coffee was an afterthought in every drink, but the sweet tooth in me wasn't mad about it, to be honest. Bitter coffee lovers may not want to avoid this lineup, but if you're looking for a sweet start to your morning, the bread line is your best bet.
