JAY-Z reveals he & Beyoncé are in "better shape" now thanks to co-treatment

JAY-Z revealed more details about his marriage to Beyoncé in a new interview on David Letterman's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction . As The Daily Beast reported, JAY-Z said on the Netflix show that he went to therapy with Beyoncé and discussed how his marriage to Beyoncé became stronger as a result after he cheated on his wife. During the interview, he told Letterman (who was also involved in a cheating scandal in October 2009, according to People ) that he was committed to making his relationship with the Lemonade singer work. The couple was so committed to keeping their marriage intact that they went to therapy to try to resolve their issues. He said,

"Just like you, I have a beautiful wife who understands me and knows that I'm not the worst person I've ever been. We did the hard work of going to therapy and, you know, we love each other, right? ?So we really put in the work.”

Judging from his comments, it seems the hard work is paying off. JAY-Z went on to tell Letterman that his marriage is currently in good shape. The rapper said: "Like you, I believe we are in a better place today. But we are still working, communicating and growing. I am proud of the father and husband I am today for all the work that has been accomplished. "

So if anyone is worried that JAY-Z and Beyoncé might be the next celebrity couple to break up, you don't have to worry. These two superstars are actually stronger now than ever.

They didn't always play nice due to rumors that he was cheating. JAY-Z only recently confirmed this in a November 2017 interview with The New York Times . In the article, he specifically said that he underwent therapy and "grew a lot from the experience." Through therapy, he learned that he could sometimes shut down emotionally, which prevented him from truly connecting with those around him.

JAY-Z later stated that because he closed himself off and was unable to contact his wife, this led to his "infidelity." As in the Letterman interview, he expressed similar sentiments about being determined to make his marriage happy, while also noting that his infidelity had clearly caused his wife tremendous pain. The rapper said:

"You know, most people walk away, the divorce rate is like 50 percent or something, because most people don't see themselves. The hardest thing is seeing the pain you cause other people and then you have to deal with it yourself. "

Recently, JAY-Z opened up about the couple being committed to their marriage no matter what happens between them. In an interview with CNN's Van Jones, the rapper said he will always fight for Beyoncé because she is his "soulmate." It seems like both singers are determined to get through this together. He told Jones, "For us, we choose to fight for our love. For our family."

As fans already know, the cheating made headlines after Beyoncé's Lemonade album was released in April 2016. As Cosmopolitan UK points out, the album track contains numerous lyrics suggesting that JAY-Z cheated on her. "Hold Up" has some very telling lines: "Something doesn't feel right 'cause it doesn't feel right, especially after midnight/I smell your secret, I'm not perfect enough to feel the slightest bit Worthless/How could this happen?” What it boils down to is, check your call list? "

Of course, "Sorry" also features the now-classic lyric "He'd better call Becky with the nice hair." However, this cheating had not been clearly confirmed until JAY-Z was interviewed by the New York Times . Now that the rapper has admitted to the infidelity and revealed that he and his wife have been working through the issues that resulted, it looks like JAY and Bey are doing better than ever.
