According to astrologer Stina Garbis, the shape of a zodiac sign affects how they feel about growing up. Mutable signs tend to be energetic and all-around, she tells Bustle, which can affect their lifestyle and the things they like to do.
Of course, this isn't to say that "real" adults don't have fun, or that younger signs are somehow more immature. Just some signs of being a teenager in their 20s or 30s, as TikTokers say. Below, astrologers share the three zodiac signs that don’t want to grow up.
Gemini (May 21 to June 20)
Gemini is like a big child in an adult's body. According to Gabis, they hate doing chores and everything they do is a little chaotic, and like children, they wouldn't have it any other way.
While other signs eventually settle into more adult habits, Geminis lament the 40-hour work week, hate buying toothpaste and other toiletries, and deeply regret the childhood they wish they had lost.
According to Garbis, this air sign is also particularly nostalgic, which means they enjoy watching the same movies and listening to the same bands they loved as kids. They still have all the stuff from that era, like old T-shirts and yearbooks.
"They also kept all their old friends," she said, because it made them feel young. Instead of going on proper vacations, they may keep youthful traditions, like an annual camping trip that includes Twinkies and campfire stories.
Cancer (June 21 to July 22)
As people who absolutely hate change, Cancers despise the idea of growing up and getting older. According to Garbis, they fall in love with every era of their lives and then want to hold on to it forever, especially for those in their teens and early twenties.
This water sign is also determined when it comes to maturity, Garbis says. They don't like the idea of buying a home that requires lawn mowing or roof repairs, and they would skip owning a car if they could. They prefer a lifestyle that is as cool and low-maintenance as possible.
These traits also influence Cancer's work preferences. Rather than having an office job, this sign prefers jobs that come and go so they can easily change what they're doing depending on their mood. While this works great for them, it's often seen as a sign that they don't want to grow up.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
Garbis says Sagittarius is always childlike, thanks to the way they joke and play pranks on everyone they know. This changeable fire sign also seeks out fun, childlike experiences whenever possible.
According to Garbis, they live for amusement parks and carnivals and have to leave with marshmallows and the largest stuffed animal. They're also not afraid to play in the park, ride their bikes or swing on the swings. If it's interesting, they won't hesitate to do it.
Garbis says that as they get older, Sagittarius people tap into their inner child more, so they also get involved in the hobbies they enjoyed as children. Watch them roller skate, paint, and wear fun mismatched outfits. They may not want to grow up, but you can bet they're happier than ever.
