If you were inspired to watch "Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's Version)" after watching the trailer for Prime Video's "The Wild" , you're not alone. The edgy Reputation song sets the tone for this twisty revenge thriller, based on BE Jones' 2019 novel of the same name, which follows a couple, Liv and Will, as they try to repair their relationship after Will cheats on them.
"It's kind of unbelievable... that she agreed to let us have the song," Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who plays Will, said in the Prime Video special. Ashley Benson, who plays Kara, Will's furtive love interest, said it's one of her favorite songs - from her favorite album. "I could listen to ' Reputation ' over and over again," Pretty Little Liars Add alum.
Of course, Swift has lent her music to Prime Video shows before, notably debuting Taylor's versions of tracks like "This Love" and "Delicate" on "The Summer I Got Pretty." This new collection is a far cry from the sunny, youthful vibe of Cousins Beach, but Swift's catalog runs the gamut, so it works.
As "Look What You Made Me Do," the show's opening song, suggests, Wilderness is very much a "for her!" kind of show, one about a woman who finds her power through questionable means. The rest of the "Wild" soundtrack highlights female artists like Britney Spears, fitting in perfectly with this theme.
