11 Non-Myers-Briggs Personality Tests That Can Look into Your Soul

Like most girls who came of age in the '90s, I love a good personality quiz. I mean, come on, who hasn't taken all the Cosmo quizzes? While these tests are fun and mostly not that serious, you might be surprised, as I was recently when I took a test to see how much your mood has changed. Of course, when it comes to personality tests, nothing comes close to the original mac-daddy of all personality tests: the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

Developed by Katherine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers in the 1940s, the MBTI personality test concept is deeply rooted in Based on the theories of Swiss psychoanalyst and psychiatrist Carl Jung. Jung believed that there are four main ways in which humans psychologically view and experience the world and the people around them, which are divided into two options: introversion/extroversion, intuition/sensing, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving. Briggs and Myers took these indicators and eventually developed their own test.

Today, millions of people around the world use the MBTI to help them decipher their personality traits.
