The children of destiny reunited for special reasons

Kelly Rowland's husband just received the best birthday present ever. The singer reunited with her Destiny's Child bandmates Beyoncé and Michelle Williams to serenade her husband, talent manager Tim Weatherspoon, in celebration of his 50th birthday .

On January 6, Rowland hosted a star-studded party at the Fleur Room in Los Angeles, where the trio performed a melodic rendition of "Happy Birthday" for Witherspoon. An insider told Page Six that this was the "highlight" of the event and was expected. Later, he and Roland's sons, Titan, 8, and Noah, 2, helped their father blow out his birthday candles.

Wedding planner Tanja de Ruig shared a photo on Instagram from a party with Beyoncé, while actor Lance Gross posted a photo with Loren and the birthday boy. Other A-list guests include The Weeknd, Twitter co-founders Jack Dorsey, Kris Jenner and boyfriend Corey Gamble, and of course Bey's husband Jay-Z.

Renaissance Tour Reunion

Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams have remained close friends and often hang out privately since Destiny's Child split in 2006. They've only publicly reunited on special occasions, including Bey's 2013 Super Bowl halftime show and the historic 2018 Coachella music festival. But in recent months, their gatherings have expanded to include the group's former alumni.

The trio joined former Destiny's Child members LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson backstage at Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour concert in their shared hometown of Houston Come together. The only missing member is Farrah Franklin, who joined the group in 2003 for just six months.

Bey's Renaissance film captured the reunion, with the singer explaining in voiceover that it was the first time the five of them had been in the same room in years. “It was like a new lease of life for us and a lot of healing,” she said.

The healing did them good, and two months later the five of them reunited at the premiere of Renaissance Films in Los Angeles.

Luckett reflected on the reunion after New Year's Day, calling it "my favorite moment of 2023," while sharing a backstage photo of the fivesome. "Love, joy, prayers, healing," she wrote on Instagram. “May we all experience such wonderful moments in 2024.”
