Music's biggest night is one step closer. 2023 Grammy Nominations Announced on November 15, John Legend, Machine Gun Kelly and 2022 Best New Artist Winner Olivia Rodrigo and other stars helped announce this year's nominees. Beyoncé leads the way with nine nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Break My Soul" and Album of the Year for "Renaissance ," making her and husband Jay-Z the most Grammy-nominated ever. artist. Kendrick Lamar trails behind with eight nominations, followed by Adele and Brandi Carlile with seven. DJ Khaled, Future, The-Dream, Randy Merrill and Harry Styles all received six nominations.

Some notable artists and album releases were absent from the nominations list, but not everyone was completely snubbed. While Taylor Swift's re-recording of "Red" (Taylor's version) was nominated and "All Too Well (10 Minutes)" was also nominated for song of the year, her new album "Midnights" won't be out until next year Eligibility for nominations is due as it is posted after the September 30 deadline.

Following last year's pattern, The Weeknd and Drake did not submit their albums "Dawn FM" and "Honestly, Nevermind" for consideration. Silk Sonic followed suit, winning Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Leave the Door Open." "We're grateful to the Grammys for allowing us to perform on their platform — not once but twice — and to honor us at last year's ceremony," Bruno Mars told " Rolling Stone magazine . "It would be crazy if we asked for more."

This year, the Recording Academy introduced several new categories, including the long-awaited Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical), to pair with the existing Producer of the Year. The award will highlight the work of "underperforming and non-producing songwriters," meaning you probably won't see singer-songwriters like Rodrigo or Swift nominated for the honor. Other new categories include Best American Act, Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Spoken Word Poetry Album and Best Score for Video Games and Other Interactive Media. A Special Merit Award for Best Song for Social Change will also be awarded.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 5 and broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+. This year, the awards ceremony will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles after an absence of two years.
