Justin Lin, who directed "Good Luck Tomorrow" (2002) before going on to direct "Tokyo Drift" and other films, could be interesting because Han Lue (played by Jiang Chenggang) is part of the story. The movie is a crime drama, but it doesn't involve car pyrotechnics or international robberies.
Although Lin and many fans consider this to be Han's origin story, it's not officially part of the Fast and Furious franchise. But it has a different distribution company (MTV Movies/Paramount distributed the film, while Universal Pictures distributed the Fast and Furious movies).
To include it chronologically, you could place it directly after the first Fast and the Furious .
According to reports, a follow-up to Fast X is currently in development and is expected to be released in 2026, bringing the main series to an end. However, multiple spin-offs are also coming.
