People might think Travis Kelce is Taylor Swift's biggest fan right now, but Flavor Flav makes a strong case for being the ultimate Swift (Taylor Swiftie). The rapper (real name: William Jonathan Drayton Jr.) attended the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on November 3, where he paid tribute to "My Girl Taylor Swift" best efforts.
The event inducted new honorees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, including performers Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine and the Spinners. Flavor Flav, a member of the legendary 2013 rap group Public Enemy, was also on hand to welcome them. He also made it clear that he's ready for Swift to join them.
vote for tyler
"One day we saw my daughter Taylor Swift standing there," Flavor said in an Associated Press video. "It's about time. She's setting records. She's breaking records. You know what I'm saying? So I'm going to vote for her next."
He showed his support in more than just words. Flavor Flav also gave away Swift-themed guitar picks to make the event even more complicated, People reports. "I'm a huge fan of hers," he explained to the outlet, adding, "Every lyric she spits out is relevant to life."
“Suitable for Swiftie”
Flav's attire is another part of his statement. He walked the red carpet wearing a 1989 powder blue (Taylor version) cardigan that really highlighted how much of a fan he is of the pop star. He told Good Morning America 's red carpet reporters that Swift sent it to him. "I think it's a gift to me as a Swiftie," he said.
Perhaps best of all is how Flavor Flav made sure his signature clock necklace coordinated with a knitted cardigan. This particular watch is a similar blue and has enough gemstones to make the whole place sparkle. It even only revealed his white tie, which had "1989" written on it in matching blue letters.
No Flavor Flav costume is complete without a clock. In 2017, he explained why it was his signature on Pawn Stars Season 14. "The reason I wear this clock is because time is the most important element," he said. "When we stop, time continues."
Time waits for Swiftie, so Flavor Flav is making the most of his opportunity.
