Lizzo & Myke Wright's relationship reaches new level with 'hard boot'

Lizzo hasn't kept her relationship with boyfriend Mike Wright secret from fans, but she's largely refrained from showing him off on social media during the year they've been dating. Well, not anymore. The "Special" singer decided it was time to give their relationship a "hard start" and posted four sweet couple photos on her Instagram and Twitter accounts on Saturday, February 4.

In every photo she chooses to share, Lizzo and Wright can be seen wearing dapper eveningwear for red carpet events (more on that key detail soon). She wore a black and blue gradient raffia fringed dress from the Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2023 collection, paired with stocking boots. Meanwhile, Wright's outfit was simpler, but his black gown perfectly matched her look.

The images are from a special date night for the pair. They attended Clive Davis' pre-Grammy after-party at the Beverly Hills Hilton, a star-studded event that returned after a two-year hiatus due to public health concerns. Attendees include Oliva Rodrigo and Tom Hanks, Jennifer Hudson, Sheryl Crow, Lil Way Stars including Lil Wayne and Lizzo herself also performed. On stage, she sang "Break Up Twice," a song whose lyrics happened to be inspired by Wright and their relationship.

The night started with the couple walking the red carpet together, and this time it was special. The carpet at the party was actually red, which was an important detail because Lizzo noted in an interview with The Breakfast Club radio show in July that they'll be making it official when they walk the actual red carpet together. When Wright joined her for the "For Your Consideration" event on June 6 for her Amazon Prime Video series Lizzo's Watch For the Big Grrrls , the color was blue.

While the blue carpet moment obviously didn't make them officially married just yet, their appearance had fans buzzing because Lizzo happened to be wearing a ring on her left hand. When asked about it by Elle UK in July, she laughed and called their relationship a "bromance." The three-time Grammy winner (who is currently nominated for five awards) has since become more open about her relationships, telling Vanity Fair in its October cover story that Wright is her "life partner ".

"I've known him for over six years," she said. "He was everything. We just loved each other. That was it. ... He was the love of my life. We were life partners."

Now that their relationship has become so serious, their hard launch and red carpet debut was only fitting. Lizzo previously joked about their "soft launch" (a.k.a. her posting photos with him but not tagging him) in a July Breakfast Club interview, so all signs are that she now feels their relationship is stronger than ever .
