Beyoncé just revealed the title of her country album

More than a month after announcing her long-awaited "Second Act" album, Beyoncé has finally revealed the title. As her website confirms, the country album will be released on March 29th and will be titled Cowboy Carter .

Beyoncé posted the caption on her Instagram Story, sharing a striking teaser image of a red and white "Cowboy Carter" belt atop a saddle. The title is a nod to her married last name (her husband, Jay-Z, was born Shawn Carter), a tactic she used during her 2013 tour of "The Mrs. Carter Show."

“Cowboy Carter” is now available for pre-order on Beyoncé’s online store. Like Renaissance, there are two CD box sets with unique T-shirts, both printed with cowboy-style graphics. There are also four different colored vinyl records and two additional CDs available, all with yet-to-be-announced limited-edition covers. Additionally, the site promises exclusive bonus tracks on all CDs.

Both songs prove that Bey is ready to explore her Southern roots and establish herself in the country music world with the new album.

Since then, the singer has made history with "Texas Hold 'Em," becoming the first black female artist to top the Billboard Country Songs chart and the first to have a country song top the Billboard Hot 100 Black female artist topping singles charts across all genres.

"I think she recorded 'Jolene,' and I think it might be on her country album, which I'm really excited about," Parton told Knox News , before clarifying that Bay might just do some work on the song sample or insert. "I love her! She's a beautiful girl and a great singer."

The album marks the second part of her three-act project, which began with 2022's House-inspired Renaissance . Just as the Renaissance emphasized the black roots of dance and electronic music, Cowboy Carter aims to showcase the black roots of country music and the untold history of black cowboys.
