Spoilers ahead for Bridgerton Season 3. With a new chapter in Bridgerton about to begin, fans are busy speculating about what season 3 might hold — including what will happen to the ever-divisive Theo Sharp.
In season two, print shop worker Theo (Calam Lynch) develops an unexpected relationship with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessee). However, their secret romance comes to an abrupt end when Lady Whistledown (Nicola Coughlan) threatens to expose the relationship.
The Netflix series is based on Julia Quinn's Bridgerton novel series, in which Eloise falls in love with Sir Philip Crane (played by Chris Fulton) Played by Chris Fulton). The character of Theo doesn't appear in the books at all and was simply created for the streaming adaptation.
"Close Theloise Chapter"
The prospect of Theo returning for season three doesn't sit well with some fans, many of whom would like to see Eloise's storyline stay true to the original.
Netflix has yet to confirm if Theo will appear in the next season, but eagle-eyed fans on Reddit noticed that actor Callum Lynch's agency tagged him in a tweet referencing Season 3 , sparking Rumors of the character's return.
"I hope he doesn't come back," one Reddit user said of the rumors. "To me, there's no chemistry between Theo and Eloise. I don't care about that subplot."
Other "Team Phillip" fans agreed, saying that if Theo does return, they hope producers can "close the Theloise chapter" for good.

However, some fans seem open to Theo's return, claiming that his presence gives more depth to the character of Eloise.
"I think their relationship shows that Eloise is capable of having romantic feelings for someone one day," one Reddit user also wrote.
"I hope Theo comes back!" added another. "I've seen the show but not read the books. The TV show 'Héloïse' seemed different to the original 'Héloïse' - and Theo seemed a better fit for her."
In May 2024, fans will learn Theo's fate in the Bridgerton- verse when the highly anticipated Season 3 Part 1 finally drops on Netflix.
The third chapter of Bridgerton will center on the relationship between Penelope Featherington (Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), aka "Pauline" romance unfolds.
In addition to Jesse, Coughlan and Newton, cast members confirmed to return include Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Golda Rothwell (Queen Charlotte) and Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton) and others.
