Ariana Grande's Wicked Look Proves Glinda Invented Millennial Pink

On May 15, the long-awaited trailer for Wicked was released, starring Ariana Grande as Glinda, who debuts in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical. Cynthia Erivo plays Elphaba. Naturally, the pair's voices were the stars of the show, but Grande's flawless pink outfit was equally impressive.

As Glinda the Good Witch, Grande adopted pink as her signature color, covering her wardrobe and dorm room in pink. No, that didn't change when Elphaba moved in. Of course, the two were initially at odds, but as the iconic slogan goes: pink goes well with green.

Needless to say, Kristin Chenoweth, who played the role of Glinda on Broadway, is very proud, as she confirmed on X (formerly Twitter). Read on for Grande's best looks from the Wicked trailer.

Audiences first see Grande at Sheeds University, where her character wears a classic preppy uniform that exudes a feminine vibe. Glinda chose a baby pink and blue striped blazer with gold buttons, paired with a pink button-up shirt. She completed the look with a pink leather satchel. (Blair Waldorf could never.)

To sing Glinda's hit song "Popular," Grande twirled around her dorm room in some seriously luxe lingerie and rocked a ceiling fan. She wore a flowing silk pink blouse that was perfect for high kicks and featured two of the most ruffled shoulder pads ever.

In a fencing match, Glinda faces her nemesis Elphaba, staying true to herself wearing a light pink sporty miniskirt and her hair tied into a ponytail with a pink ribbon.

As the trailer briefly shows, Grande effortlessly pulls off Glinda's most iconic look. The Good Witch wore a pink princess gown with a studded bodice and ruffled, crystal-encrusted tiered skirt. Of course, this look wouldn't be complete without her jewel-encrusted crown and scepter fit for a princess.
