Katie Holmes’ Fréja bag looks expensive, but it’s less than $300

If there's anything I've learned about Katie Holmes over the years, it's this: she knows how to push a good trend.

Who can forget her cashmere bra moment that sent the internet into a frenzy in 2019? At the time, the actress stepped out in New York wearing a matching neutral bra and cardigan from Khaite, a less visible (at least at the time) brand. All matching sets are sold out.

Fast forward to today, and the actress is still creating noteworthy street style moments. Her best recent one? This photo shows an oatmeal-colored bag from New York brand Fréja (the style is called the “Caroline”). Take a quick look at the company's Instagram page and you'll see a gallery of Internet It Girls like Alix Earle, Matilda Djerf and Hailey Bieber, all wearing similar styles.

nostalgia factor

Aside from the fact that Suri Cruise is now a full-fledged adult, Katie makes me feel like the '90s are still alive and well -- like I'm still waiting to see Joey and Pacey finally Will they be together? That's the cyclical nature of fashion: when something from your past resurfaces, it can transport you into another era while still being completely relevant to the time you're living in.

It's fitting, then, that Katie chose to pair her casual denim and loafers look with a vintage-inspired bag yesterday. The vegan leather design features a thin roll strap for shoulder wear. It comes in four different colorways and is the perfect everyday tote.

Star-studded fan base

Katie isn't the only celebrity to be attracted to trendy silhouettes. Model and skincare entrepreneur Hailey Bieber has been seen wearing the exact same version of this black bag, which sells for under $260.

My conclusion? The Caroline bag is a hot bag this season and you can’t tell me otherwise.
