King Charles may change historic Trooping the Army tradition

As the Kate Middleton photo editing scandal continues to rock the internet, many senior members of the royal family are still gearing up for scheduled events of the year. The historic Trooping the Color is next on the agenda for King Charles, but the reigning monarch may have to make major changes to this year's parade.

The Trooping the Color parade marks the 260th official birthday of the British monarch. As the royal family's official website states, during the parade, "1,400 marching soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians" walked the streets of London, "displaying military precision, equestrianism and trumpets to honor the monarch's official Birthday. "

According to the Daily Mail , although Charles is undergoing cancer treatment, he is "determined to participate" in the June 15 celebratory parade.

As Queen Elizabeth II has shown, reigning monarchs often ride horses at the annual event when they are physically able. The late Queen last rode her beloved Burmese horse in the 1986 Trooping the Color parade. She spent the next few decades riding in royal carriages.

Sources suggest the king may also ride in a carriage rather than on horseback during this year's parade.

Starting when he rode back in 2023, things changed. He led the procession in central London ahead of Prince William and two of his three siblings - Princess Anne and Prince Edward. They were followed by Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Queen Camilla, who drove through the crowd of royal spectators in a carriage.
