Cardi B confirms split from husband Offset

Cardi B is going through a breakup. In the early hours of December 11, the rapper took to Instagram Live to confirm rumors that she had split from husband Offset, saying that she had been "single for a minute."

"I don't know if you guys got the clue from my Live or my Instagram Stories, I put certain music in there," she said. "When it comes to things like events, I don't think it's true and I don't want to know because I've been single for a minute."

Clues about Cardi and Offset's breakup

Cardi and Offset were rumored to have broken up after fans noticed they unfollowed each other on Instagram and she started sharing cryptic messages on her Stories like, "You know, when you don't need a relationship anymore ” and “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings… I have to put myself first!”

During her Instagram Live, Cardi went on to explain why she was hesitant to confirm the split to the public. "I was always scared...not afraid, but I just didn't know how to tell the world," she said.

"I feel like today is like a sign. The last time I was on Live, I kind of wanted to tell you, but I didn't know how to tell you, so I changed my mind."

New beginning

The two secretly married in September 2017 after dating for several months. Cardi originally filed for divorce in late 2020 and reconciled with Offset a few months later. They have two children, 5-year-old daughter Kulture and 2-year-old son Wave.

Offset has yet to comment on the split, but Cardi is looking forward to her next chapter as a single woman. “I want to start 2024 in a fresh and open way,” she said. "I'm curious about a new life, a new beginning. I'm excited."
