For Jonathan Bailey, filming the third season of "Bridgerton" was especially challenging.
The actor plays Anthony Bridgerton in the Netflix series and recently appeared on Variety 's "Actors on Actors" series with Naomi Watts. During their conversation, Bailey revealed that he's working on "Bridgerton , " "The Road Trip" and "Wicked" at the same time.
"It was gymnastics, I couldn't believe it," Watts said of his packed filming schedule. "So you're filming in different countries - not just different scenes - with different accents."
Although his schedule felt "good" at the time, Bailey said changing his hairstyle was the hardest part of working on three projects at once. "I had my hair permed for Bridgerton and they straightened my hair for Tim [in 'Travelling ')," he explained.
"Oh my God! How come you don't have any hair left? Didn't it fall out?" Watts asked, to which Bailey replied: "I was on vacation and my hair looked like coral - like in the water The next thing is just floating around. Sometimes, [doing all these shows] blends together in a weird way."
As for how he manages such a busy schedule: "The free fall makes sense," he told Watts. “There wasn’t enough time, so I had to go with my gut.”
This is the latest Bailey has talked about filming Bridgerton Season 3. In November 2023, he appeared on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM radio show and discussed juggling the three projects, especially his schedule after wrapping "Traveler," which tells the story of a decades-long Years of "Fellow Travelers". A romance between two men during the AIDS crisis of the 1980s.
"I finished the day, went straight to the airport, slept for about four hours, got picked up from Heathrow, went straight to the Regency Ball and had my hair curled. Then I was there for two days," he said. "The last day, I went to Oz Dust and danced with Ari [Ariana Grande]. ... I didn't take a day off."
