Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale may have a secret that she'll find hard to keep if a fan poll turns out to be correct.
On April 9, the official poster for Max's reboot series Pretty Little Liars: Summer School was released on Instagram with the caption, "It's gonna be a killer summer." Max, who played Aria Montgomery in the original series Hale also joined in the excitement, commenting under the post: "Kinda makes me want to go back to school?"
The actor's "cryptic" comments (as one user called them) have some PLL fans speculating that Aria may appear in the reboot's second season, which is set to premiere on the streaming platform on May 9.
"Not you hinting at a cameo as Ms. Hale!" one fan commented on Instagram. "Now wait!" wrote another. Others are calling for Hale to return to Pretty Little Liars with her former on-screen love Ezra Fitz (played by Ian Harding). “We need you and @ianmharding to show up.”
If you missed the original Pretty Little Liars , Hale starred on the show for seven seasons (2010-2017), alongside Troian Bellisario (Spencer Hastings), Ashley Benson (Hannah Marin) ) and Holly Marie Combs (Ella Montgomery) starring opposite each other. .
Based on the book series of the same name by Sarah Shepard, the show follows a group of teenagers who are harassed by the mysterious "A" after their friends disappear. The show has spawned multiple spin-offs and a "Max" reboot, with the first season premiering in 2022.
She hasn't ruled out a cameo
The reboot takes place in the fictional town of Millwood, Pennsylvania. The show tells the story of five teenage girls who are tortured by an unknown figure who blames their mother for a death that occurred on New Year's Eve in 1999.
Although Hale did not appear in the first season, her character was referenced in the series.
"I forget how my character Aria was involved in it, but I know she was mentioned in some way. I mean, I never say 'ever.' That show was the greatest gift of my life. ," she told MovieWeb in January. "I'm so grateful for that experience. I don't know if I'll get a reboot, but who knows? I'm glad they're keeping it going. I think it's awesome."
